I am experiencing shedding of transplanted hair now at 7 months post-op—they look like the donor hairs that fell out around the 1-2 month point. I can also feel by combing my scalp with my fingers a significant amount of stubble which I assume are the transplanted hairs. Finally, I am still experiencing localized inflammation in the donor area—basically painful acne-like bumps. See pictures. My feeling is that the shedding and healing processes should be finished and regrowth starting by now.

Answer: It may take 6 to 12 months to see the results of a hair transplant surgery. If you are concerned it is best to discuss it
Both procedures have their place and both have their risks. If FUT is not done properly then you can have damaged grafts, poor yield and stretching of your strip scar that will ruin your donor region. Both FUE and FUT come with risks if the procedure is not performed correctly.
It is best to contact your surgeon for post surgery issues and care since all doctors have slightly different instructions.Redness can be a sign of infection. Best way to determine this is to see a doctor for an examination.
