I had an FUE transplant (2,300 grafts) 7 months ago, but continue to notice the original hairs falling from the grafts. Opinion?

I am experiencing shedding of transplanted hair now at 7 months post-op—they look like the donor hairs that fell out around the 1-2 month point. I can also feel by combing my scalp with my fingers a significant amount of stubble which I assume are the transplanted hairs. Finally, I am still experiencing localized inflammation in the donor area—basically painful acne-like bumps. See pictures. My feeling is that the shedding and healing processes should be finished and regrowth starting by now.

It may take 6 to 12 months to see the results of a hair transplant surgery.  If you are concerned it is best to discuss it with your doctor.It is not clear how you would know if you are losing transplanted hair versus native hair.  Either way it is best to see your doctor for an exam.

Seven months is still early for a lot of regrowth-  and it is unclear if the hairs falling out are transplant or your original hairs. I advise you to consult with your surgeon, including dealing with the inflammation it sounds like of your donor area.

With Shedding continuing for 7 months, I would want to know what you look like. I would expect that most of the hair should have grown in by now so an examination is critical to understanding your present problem
