Is there any surgery that can you get high cheekbones as a male, or is this something that just physically cannot be done? I have low cheekbones but they have projection because of fillers I had, so it looks similar to a male model, however what I noticed is my cheeks aren't high set enough. My zygomatic arch still appears to be low set. Is there any possible way for the cheekbone to move "up", and go from low set to high set, or is this something that you just have to deal with?
Answer: Is there a way to get high cheekbones in a male? Malar implants can be used to give higher cheekbones in men and women. An examination of you or at least photographs of you would be needed to determine if this procedure might be of benefit to you.

Answer: Consultation Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. You may be a candidate for malar implants. I always use medpor implants with screw fixation for this purpose. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Contouring & Lift--Cheek Augmentation (Voluma, Bellafill), sculptra, implants or fat Facial sculpting and "lift" of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: High Cheekbones Custom cheek-arch implants can create the exact midface look you are seeking. You have to augment the bone and have an implant design that can specifically create that effect. Standard cheek implants can not create this desired male facial effect.

Answer: Is there any way to get high cheekbones as a male? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek implants, chin implant, lip implants), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. Following my facial beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face. Cheek augmentation with silastic cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. This would be combined with liposuction to reduce the excess facial fat to further define the cheek shape. I have placed silastic cheek implants for 30 years in military, SWAT, LE, professional fighters, as well as actors and many regular people who are active. When placed below the covering of the bone and when the layers of the cheek are closed from the inside out, there is no need for fixation screws or sutures in my humble opinion. I do ask that all my cheek implant and chin implant patients sleep on a U-shaped pillow for 1 month following the surgery. In addition, I have had the opportunity on numerous occasions to replace silastic cheek implants (placed by others) that had been screwed into the cheek bone. During the replacement it was evident that the metal screws pushed right through the soft implant as it was tightened down on the hard cheek bone. Which makes perfect sense. So in the long run, these fixation methods alone are no guarantee that the implant won't move. Proper placement, proper implant pocket creation and meticulous closure of all the tissues layers is what is required in my humble opinion. Chin augmentation, using a silastic chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line. Hope this helps.
