I am 50 years old and have good skin texture, except for some enlarged pores and shallow acne scars on my cheeks, remnants of untreated teenage acne. I would like to have these problem areas treated with Halo laser. Will treating only these sections of my face leave me with a visible line of demarcation? I have pale Caucasion skin.
Answer: Halo Treatment Thank you for your question. Treatment with Halo for the conditions you described should not cause a visible line of demarcation. However, because Halo stimulates collagen I would recommend treating your entire face for best results as you will have some downtime with the procedure. I would recommend consulting with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive training and experience with this modality for optimal results. They will be able to determine which laser or procedure is right for you and what settings are appropriate for your skin type. Pale, Caucasian is fortunately the safest skin type to treat with lasers. If the treatment itself is not performed by a physician, it should be performed by a certified laser medical technician who also has extensive training and experience with this modality and who directly consults with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

Answer: Treating only Part of the Face with Laser I actually refuse to treat only part of the face with laser in my practice - I've had too many people show up at my door needing correction when they do that. When you do halo laser (or any other laser), you are not only going to help your pores, but remove browns/reds and other signs of sun damage. Your face is one aesthetic / visual unit and it all needs to match. I always treat the entire face, but then will often go back over areas of concern more deeply to help address like acne scars better.

Answer: Acne scars Thanks for the great question. When treating patients with acne scars I typically will treat the entire face at least with a light halo, then go back over the acne scars with a more aggressive setting. This allows for a more even rejuvenation of your skin tone over your entire face. If you only have the acne ares treated, there will be a different in the skin quality and texture for a few weeks. Acne scars can be hard to get rid of, so it will likely take more than one Halo treatment to get them to a place you're happy with. I've had great success treating patients so far. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber

Answer: Halo for Acne scars Hello, Halo Laser will be an excellent choose for pores reduction, texture correction, collagen stimulation and improving fine lines and wrinkles. Halo uses two wave length simultaneously. The first wave length address more superficial skin conditions and the second wave length target deeper skin conditions such as scars. The number of treatments and degree of improvement will be depends of different circumstances such as skin color. Some patients may require multiple treatment to reach desirable result. Best of luck

Answer: HALO - Unlike to cause lines Treat your entire face to reduce lines of demarkation. The only thing I can add is that the spot size of the erbium is a little large, so grids can occur. I have done over 2000 sciton procedure, and only had 2 cases of grinding, this can be fixed. Treat the entire cosmetic complex to reduce the chances of demarkation. Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
