Generally speaking, fillers do not have any side effects when combined with an MRI. The fillers may be seen on your MRI scan. I always recommend an at-home dermarolling (see link below) to my patients to keep overall skin texture healthy and a youthful look combined with filler. Best, Dr. Emer
Hi and thank you for your question! There shouldn't be any issues with getting lip fillers after doing an MRI. I hope it helps and good luck!
I would not see any problem with having lip fillers done the same day after having an MRI with contrast. The fillers should not be affected by the imaging study with contrast.
Yes, you are okay to have a an MRI with contrast and lip filler performed the same day. Be sure to ice the lips in the evening and keep your head slightly elevated while you sleep to reduce the chance of swelling the next day.
Contrast given during an MRI is called gadolinium and is less toxic than the iodinated contrast that is given with a CT scan. Gadolinium is not an issue with fillers and vice versa. Not sure which part of the body you are doing fillers but if you are doing the temples and you go for brain MRI, the radiologist might see the newly inserted filler and might wonder what it is. If this is the case, you would want to do MRI first and then have the fillers inserted.
Why not reschedule the filler injection for a week to 10 days later, just incas. I doubt any relationship but why take any chance or risk? The concept of, "I should have waited" applies.
You most definitely can have an MRI and your lips filled out the same day except you have to remember that they have to be done in that order, MRI first and lips second because if you have to lie down on the MRI table after lip fillers your whole face and the lips me swell significantly. With a proper technique in lip augmentation there should be practically no to minimal swelling in the lips. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
There is no contraindication to having filler treatment after MRI. It’s a diagnostic test and the contrast dye bears no relationship to the effectiveness or safety of the fillers.
Thank you for your photo and question. Based on your image and your age, I might suggest starting out with some well-placed injectable dermal filler. These products work in the underlying dermal structure to provide support and add volume and sculpting to key areas of the face. While this isn't...
Hello and thank you for your question. If volume loss is your issue, it can be addressed using some injectable dermal filler in the temple area. There are a variety of filler options to consider, and the duration of your results will depend on the specific filler used and how quickly your body...
These are not anticipated results one month after treatment. Though they will improve over time it may be best to dissolve especially the under eye filler. Be sure to seek treatment from an experienced injector as it looks from the photos that the filler was not placed correctly.
