I would like my chin to be more v shaped and a little less square. Nothing too dramatic. I also feel as though my brow ridge is quite strong. I think this may be an issue with muscle since I constantly need to raise my brows in order to look up. Could I fill in the dent along my brow ridge with radiesse? I feel like it is very pronounced in photos, especially when I am looking up.
Answer: Non-Surgical Chin Augmentation with Injectable Fillers -- Radiesse, Sculptra, Surgical Implants, See an Expert "A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease. Implants are still a great option once you are 100% positive that you are ready for a permanent enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert; our practice is located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer"

Answer: Nonsurgical Chin Augmentation With Fillers Can Work Well For Establishing A More Pleasing Contour & Projection Ideally, in profile view, the chin should extend out approximately the same distance as the lower lip pout. From the side view provided here, it does seem that some augmentation with a volumizing filler can help to establish more ideal proportions and projection. Voluma XC would be my volumizing filler of choice for this purpose in my Upper East Side NY office and Volyme in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved injectable volumizers are available. One syringe is likely to achieve the desired, more V-shape effect. Regarding the brow, at least from the photos, there seems to be subtle prominence of the brow ridge. The forehead, particularly the lower third is rich with blood vessels that if entered or compressed by a filler can lead to serious consequences. Accordingly, this region, in particular, should not be left to the hands of novice injectors accustomed to injecting plain Restylane or Juvederm into ordinary smile lines. Moreover, Radiesse, being a very thick, robust volumizer, would not, in my opinion, make a good choice for this indication. Instead, lighter fillers such as Belotero (NY) or Aliaxin FL (Israel) would make better choices in the hands of an experienced injector. Make sure you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: How much filler do I need for a V-shaped chin? And can I use this along my brow ridge? Radiesse® can be used to very effectively shape/enhance and fill in the brow bone itself, but a less viscous filler such as Volbella may be preferable in the very vascular area around the eye. The jawline can be more defined and shaped by a combination of Dysport® injections (to lift jawline skin)/Botox® Cosmetic injections (to soften a square jaw by relaxing the "chewing" or masseter muscle) and shaping the jawbone itself with Radiesse®. These are all complex procedures, requiring much injecting skill and experience, so please consult a board certified aesthetic dermatologist for a consultation.

Answer: How much filler do I need for a V-shaped chin? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. I have performed many Chin Augmentations with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is very weak. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin". Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face. Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck. Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery. You can augment the chin with a dermal filler but this will need to be repeated making it far less "cost effective" over the years compared to a silastic chin implant.Hope this helps
