What causes a "fake" or "plastic" post-cosmetic surgery look? What should I avoid to get the most natural look for the face?

So obviously overdone lip fillers are a big one as far as things that make you look like you had plastic surgery, and autologous fat would be something that would create a more natural outcome, but what else should people be avoiding? If I want the most natural looking possible outcome, what kinds of procedures should I be doing and what kinds should I not? I'm talking specifically about the face, but input on augmentation of any part of the body is welcome. Thank you in advance.
