I am scheduled to have my rhinoplasty on May 24 and have made an appointment to for a facial with microdermabrasion on the 22nd. I have oily/acne prone skin, so I figured I would give my face a deep cleaning before my procedure. Will this harm my results in any way?
Answer: Before Surgery Skin Problems I would not recommend any possible irritation of the skin either on the face or directly on the nose, less than one month prior to surgery. The reason for this is that you want the skin to be without any irritations or pimples that might harbor infection that could affect the operation. Gentle cleansers can be safely used as well as the Biore strips preoperatively. What is most important is if you do have any evidence of active acne on your nose or face prior to the surgery it is important to treat this as much as possible. Sometimes you might consult a dermatologist or let your surgeon know about it before the operation.

Answer: Microdermabrasion before rhinoplasty I do not recommend that you have this procedure performed before the nasal surgery. It could affect the nasal skin. You should discuss with your plastic surgeon and follow his or her recommendation.
