I tried restylane in the under eye area. (5 months ago) It didn't give me good results. I'd rather have them removed by a surgeon. Now I am affraid that besides the fat, there is some fluid retention that doesn't change during the day (since filler) Especially under the right eye. I went to a certified surgeon who said it is fat and it can be removed. But I am not sure. Will it do more harm? Is it fat or fluid? Should I wait untill the filler is totally resolved? Any other advize is welcome

Answer: Fat or fluid under the eye. From you photo it appears that your lower eye bag is either fat or filler, not fluid. The filler can be removed with a Wydase injection. After the filler is "dissolved", an evaluation by a surgeon can be helpful for you to determine if fat removal would be beneficial for you.

Answer: Eye bags worse after filler, is surgery an option? In the right patient lower eyelid surgery can be a nice, permanent solution to bags under the eyes. Fillers can work well in many patients but may not provide the expected results and they are temporary. If you still have filler in your lower eyelids from a previous injection, surgery should be contemplated only after the filler is gone either through time or by an injection of hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. You should have a few consultations with board-certified surgeons who are experienced in treating the eyelids. Ask to see their before and after pictures and make sure you feel comfortable with the surgeon you choose. Best of luck!
