Should I delay my BBL surgery even with a very minor herpes outbreak?

Just a total word of caution about traveling for surgery known as medical tourism.  You should stay within an hour or so of your surgeon for approximately 3 weeks with 6 weeks being safest.  You have little recourse if you have an issue and you will have trouble finding plastic surgeons in New York who will treat you if you do have issues.  In Chicago, I have sent patients directly to the ER with life threatening issues after traveling for their plastic surgery.  New York has excellent BBL surgeons- check in with Dr. Spero Therodeoro and Dr. Daniel Delvecchio being perhaps world class. Do not cut corners with surgery; it is not worth a few hundred dollars.  Routinely I cancel patients with active infections.  Our policy is to be symptom free and off medications for two weeks prior to elective surgery.  Best Wishes and please, please be careful.  There is no need to travel outside of the country for the surgery you are looking to have performed.   

Liposuction can be performed if you do not have active infection and are treated perioperatively with antivirals. Best to notify your PS immediately and let him/her make that decision.
