Is this really a cyst in my nostril 6 months after rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Question

I had a septo-rhinoplasty 6 months ago and over time developed a small lump in my left nostril that slightly hangs out of my nose. I saw my doctor again who told me it was a cyst and he will cut it out and restitch the area under local anesthetic. However i'm concerned as my rhinoplasty was botched so i don't know if i can trust this doctor. I will be seeing my doctor again but i would really appreciate a second opinion so that i can trust him.

Sorry to hear this. Of course its difficult to give an answer with any certainty based on photos, but looking at yours I agree that a cyst has formed. This could be from a retained, but dissolvable suture, or just a reaction to surgery. I cannot think of many ways in which this could have been caused by an error in surgical technique. It sounds like your current doctor is willing to correct the issue and is doing the right thing. If you feel that he/she is trustworthy, then you can proceed. If you have any doubts, a second in-person consultation might be worth it.
