CoolSculpting does only affect the subcutaneous fat and there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that it makes your internal fat ( visceral) fat worse by any means. Visceral fat is organ fat and is more controlled and regulated by genetics and diet. You cannot get rid of the visceral fat with modalities like CoolSculpting, SculpSure or Liposuction.Your concern should be whether you are trying to remove subcutaneous vs visceral fat and whether you are a candidate for the non invasive treatment. Trust your body to an expert. Hope this helps, Best, Dr.Avaliani
Hi,first of all a consultation is fundamental to tell how your weight is placed on the body, everyone carries their weight differently. However, to be a candidate for Coolsculpting you must have pinchable fat in the treatment area and this has nothing to do with the 'visceral fat', that lays in a deeper level to protect your inner organs. It is important to see a qualified provider to see if Coolsculpting will address your concerns, as results can vary from patient to patient.
CoolSculpting eliminates a percentage of your subcutaneous fat, via cryolipolysis (freezing of fat cells), but does not cause any change in your overall weight or in visceral fat. Visceral fat is reduced with overall weight loss - which typically occurs with diet and exercise. Hope that helps!
CoolSculpting, CoolTech as well as other permanent fat cell destruction treatments such as LipoBlast and Ultrasound Fat Reduction have an excellent effect on external subcutaneous fat, but internal visceral fat is not affected. When you have permanent fat cell destruction in the subcutaneous layer, it is only partial fat cell destruction. Without sensible eating habits and regular exercise, the residual fat cells in the treated area are capable of expanding to multiple times their size. For example, a person who puts on 20 kilos in weight doesn’t increase the number of fat cells they have, the existing fat cells they’ve got just expand significantly by accumulating the fat. This is why no fat reduction treatment should really be undertaken unless accompanied with a sensible diet and exercise.
Visceral fat is diet and exercise dependent. Maintaining healthy eating habits is essential to regulating superficial and visceral fat. If after treating your superficial fat with Coolsculpting you are not immune from weight gain and all of your remaining fat cells have the ability to increase in size if you gain weight. Visceral fat cells would not grow preferentially after Coolsculpting. If you maintain a healthy life style after Coolsculpting, you'll be just fine.
Good question! CoolSculpting does not make your visceral fat worse once the subcutaneous fat is destroyed. Visceral fat responds only to diet modifications. There are some studies done on liposuction and it seems that once the abdominal fat is totally removed (this does not happen with CoolSculpting), and the patient follows a bad diet and starts to gain weight, the visceral fat cells could become larger, or fat cells can increase in areas not treated by liposuction. The key to long-term success is to follow a sensible lifestyle with healthy eating and regular exercise!
Hello there! I have not heard of any research that shows that Coolsculpting increases visceral fat. Coolsculpting will target subcutaneous fat, and unless the patient gains weight, there should be no shift in fat anywhere else in the body. Visceral fat is extremely difficult to reduce, and typically diet and exercise are the two biggest factor in this type of tissue. Good luck! Sarah RN BSN
Visceral fat is like an organ of its own. It is highly sensitive to the form of diet that an individual is consuming. If you don't want to have large amount of visceral fat, you have to find out which low-carbohydrate diet works best for you. Good luck from New York City
Thank you for your question. Coolsculpting is targeted at local subcutaneous fat deposits and does not affect your visceral fat. If you gain weight, whether or not you have had Coolsculpting, your visceral fat will increase. Diet and exercise is needed in conjunction with Coolsculpting for best results.
Thank you for your question. This may be a case of PAH, in which the Coolsculpting causes the fat tissue to increase. There are a number of theories as to why this happens ranging from the temperature to the suction. That being said, you would need a consultation and...
It does not mean that your procedure was ineffective if you did not have any marks/swelling/bruising. Some experience those signs of inflammation, but others may not. Only time will tell how effective the treatment was and you typically will start noticing results as early as 4...
