I had BBL done 3 months ago. My surgeon removed 700cc from back, flanks, lower abdomen and above buttocks area. He informed me that I didn't have a lot to work with but I would see a difference in my butt (though slight) and would see a change in my abdomen specifically. Now 3 months Later I see no change in shape. The lipo sites still feel swollen/ I feel chubby. Do I need more time for recovery? What could possible cause final results to take longer, or could something have gone wrong?
Answer: No change from lipo after 3 months. 700cc fat removed. Hello, thanks for your question and provided information. It is too soon to determine final results, after at least 6 months you can judge, and also have another round if you want to. As long as your hemoglobin levels are high enough, you will be perfectly fine. Advantages: One treatment may be all you need to reshape problem areas Treat more areas—and larger areas—in one procedure May be performed with either local or general anesthesia More consistent and predictable result than noninvasive treatments Liposuction, sometimes referred to as "lipo" by patients, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion. Different areas of treatment: Thighs Hips and buttocks Abdomen and waist Upper arms Back Inner knee Chest area Cheeks, chin and neck Calves and ankles Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck. What liposuction can do? Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite—the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks—or loose saggy skin.

Answer: Swelling after surgery Obviously hard to know what exactly is going on without pictures, but, from your description, it sounds as though you still have swelling of your liposuction sites. It is fairly common to still have some swelling 3 months after liposuction. I'd recommend you follow up with your surgeon to assess your appearance and to review realistic expectations.Hope this helps - Sam Jejurikar, MD

Answer: No change from lipo after 3 months. 700cc fat removed. 700cc of lipoaspirate removed from 3+ areas of the body is a very low amount to be removed. This means that the amount injected into your buttocks was very low volume. It does not surprise me that you are not seeing much of a difference. It would help us to see before/after photos so that we can give you true specific advice as you may just be VERY thin.

Answer: Realistic Brazilian Butt Lift Expectations Before and after photos would help with assessment. Liposuction results can take 6 months or more to finalize. 700 cc is not a large liposuction volume, especially spread out amongst several areas. Wouldn't expect a significant change in appearance with that volume.700 cc is not a large volume for BBL. 350 cc per butt cheek is not going to affect a significant increase in buttocks volume. Remember anywhere from 30-50 percent of the fat will not survive the fat transfer and recovery process. In my practice, if a minimum of 500 cc of fat can't be transferred to each side, I will not do the BBL procedure unless the patient has realistic expectations. Perhaps the only thing that went "wrong" is a mismanagement of expectations.
