I was advise that the hard lump is the reposition fats which will eventually dissolve. 7 months after, the solid lump below my right eye has became more prominent. My doc say this is the reposition fats. I m confuse as why it didn't 'soften' and is this really the reposition fats? I thought fats is soft and not hard like solid. after the swelling subside, my eyes area are look flat too. Any advise as to what is this and any improvement to be done? Should I massage it?

Answer: Lower Eyelid problems Not only do you have a problem with the nodule which is visible and possibly non viable fat or internal scar , but you also appear to have an issue with lower lid retraction and scleral show laterally. While it usually takes a while for these things to settle so there is room for improvement with conservative measures, 7 months is usually long enough in most cases. If things don't get better in the next 2 to 3 months I would seek several different opinions regarding having corrective surgery.

Answer: Lump after fat repositioning. You may have some fat necrosis or scarring after your fat repositioning that is causing the hard lump. Discuss with your surgeon the course of action they prefer for you to treat the situation. Good luck. Donald R. Nunn MD Atlanta Plastic Surgeon
