Benefits of starting having fillers in 20s?

I am 28 years old and having fillers in cheeks and tear troughs .Are there benefits of starting with filler treatments at an early age ? Will i need to be less frequent with treatments in future?

Hello and thank you for your question. For the most part, I think that it is a good idea to start now so that you can help maintain your skin and keep the wrinkles from worsening over time. In your case, tear trough fillers and cheek enhancement would not really have any preventative effect, but can be done purely for the aestethic improvement (tough to say without photos).
As far as prevention, combination treatments are best; starting from simple facials with microdermabrasions and light peels or lasers (to help resurface the skin and exfoliate dead skin cells), to light Botox treatments that will help wrinkles from worsening over time while smoothing existing fine lines out along with fillers that can boost facial volume.  Topicals are also important to maintain moisture, protect from free radicals/sun damage (vitamin C, SPF, etc), as well as to encourage light exfoliation (Retinols). Thank you for your question. This a lifestyle choice and is entirely up to you. Fillers will not prevent you from aging, but there is nothing wrong about starting treatment in your 20s.

I don't suggest using fillers for volume correction if there is no volume deficit of the face but on the other hand one doesn't have to wait until their 40's or 50's to have filler once the skin has started to sag more noticeably. Thank for your question! Early botox use can help prevent formation of wrinkles in the future. I would not say that most providers recommend you start using filler as a preventative measure. You may find that you need less filler and treatments less frequently after multiple treatments, but this occurs at any age of use. Warm regards.

While some fillers can help stimulate collagen production, which is something that decreases with age, there is a lot of commitment (both financial and maintenance) to beginning fillers at such a young age. Once you get used to the effects the filler provides, it will be more difficult to discontinue use if you decide to. That being said, there isn’t any proven data that shows that early use of fillers will stall aging later. It’s a personal choice, and one that I would discuss with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon injector. Good luck!

My philosphy with young patients is that whether its Botox or Fillers, if either improves or enhances your looks and you can afford it then go for it.  If your looking for the Holy Grail that this early treatment will slow down your aging and therefore need less treatments as you age then I encourage you to look at this point of view: In 10 years you will most likely be getting treatments and you will have no way of knowing if you would have needed more had you not started early.  Some of us surmise, but there is hardly any concensus, that early treatment may help do this but we do not have any conclusive studies that prove that is the case.
So do the smart thing and put your money where we have conclusive studies that show that good skin care: lifestyle changes, moisturizers, sun-avoidance, sun block and retininol treatments will help your facial skin fight aging and sun damage and prolong your youthful looks.

There is certainly a prevention benefit when starting Botox and Dysport treatments early. With regards to fillers, certain fillers, in particular Sculptra Aesthetic, stimulates collagen production and so I do think that is beneficial as we age. I think the best think to think about with regards to prevention is good skincare (sunscreen, antioxidant, retinol), regular Botox/Dysport treatments, gentle lasers like Clear + Brilliant and regular chemical peels.

Hi. Great question! Yes, as a younger patient you will benefit from filler injections as this can stimulate collagen production and decrease the amount of fillers you would need in the future. Now is also a great to begin Botox treatments as this would prevent wrinkles from forming.

There area benefits of having fillers at this age in that "baby" Botox for instance will prevent you from having wrinkles and hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane will add collagen and continue to give you increased results as new collagen as you continue your injections over time.  Please consult an expert in these cosmetic injections for the best results.
