Allergic reaction to surgical glue, how to take the glue off and relieve the allergic reaction?

Go to see the surgeon.  There is a product that we use to remove glue that is safe for the skin.  It is called detachol.

Without seeing some photos it's just a guess.  It is possible to be allergic to the glue but it is quite rare, although more common if you've had surgery before and glue was used as a dressing the first time.  Sometimes other tapes or dressings that were used around the time of surgery cause the allergy but the glue gets the blame.I think your best option is to contact your surgeon.  They will know exactly what dressing you have used and how best to remove it, if required.  You may also benefit from some antihistamines or topical or even systemic corticosteroids .Kind regardsDean

Assuming that you have surgical glue, an alcohol pad can be used to gently remove the dermabond. I would ask your surgeon's office first. Best wishes,Dr. Ravi Somayazula
