Unsatisfactory results from mini facelift, 2nd opinion please?

Question

I had a mini facelift 2 years ago and do not think the outcome was successful. The areas of concern were my jowls, jawline, nasobilial folds, double chin, which from our pre-op appts and from other patient photos, he showed me that all of those areas will be improved. I have attached the doctor’s pre-op photos, 4 months post op, and my photos. He has said that the outcome of my surgery is great but I disagree. I also have tingling and sensory changes from my cheekbone to my ear. Please advise.

From what I see you had a properly done facelift. Before surgery you didn’t really have much sagging so your after result is not as dramatic as you had hoped . I’m not sure what the mini facelift included but combine  that with the fact that you may not have been ready for a facelift  could explain your dusssppintment .

Mini facelift give many results, and this is just about what you would expect from a mini lift. In our practice, a lower face and neck lift procedure accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, and removing fat deposits in the neck along with a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline. Nasolabial folds will not be improved with a facelift.

As your nicely posted photos demonstrate there are very minor improvements in your results from as I call a “micro”mini face/neck lift. Only revision and muscle location can improve. Expect fees in the $10,000 ranges. As for sensory issues could be internal or sub dermal scar tissue on sensory nerves. Best to virtual consult with….
