Dear New Yorker, Thanks for posting your pictures and sorry for the less than optimal outcome. From observing your pictures it appears that you had mini tummy tuck with liposuction. That is why you have a bulge in the upper abdomen and the skin irregularities. You need to have a full tummy tuck, which will give a flat stomach, nice belly button, narrower waists and improve posture. Most likely you will lose weight as well, due to the abdominal muscles tightening that will reduce the amount of food that you can eat and your sense of hunger. Always, consult with experienced board certified who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly , check the before and after pictures of tummy tuck and redo tummy tuck in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive as mentioned above. All the best, Dr Widder widderplasticsurgery.com
Dear Anon246,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You need an examination to see if what you have is internal fat around your organs, or some residual fat that can be addressed with liposuction. For the internal fat, you would need to loose weight.
Hello, looks like you will need revision tummy tuck and revision 360 liposuction as i call Venus Belly like sculptures. you can see pics in my profile. your procedure would be demanding but its possible to correct and give a shape to your body including feminine muscle shadows.
I'm sorry you are unhappy with the results of your tummy tuck. The "bumpy" contour that you mention is often the result of liposuction. The upper portion of your abdomen appears it was either not addressed during muscle repair or there is visceral fat. An in person examination is recommended with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.
Based on your pictures you’ve had liposuction of your abdomen. Was this done in conjunction with the tummy tuck or as a separate procedure?Correcting and uneven fat distribution from previous Liposuction is very difficult to do and it’s different than doing a tummy tuck revision. You also have a bulging upper abdomen which can represent a few different scenarios. The two most common reasons patients have a bulging upper abdomen after a full tummy tuck is either from having excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat or being barrel chested with a sternum that sits significantly in front of their pubic bone or a combination of both.A bulging upper abdomen can also happen if the lower abdomen has overly aggressive muscle tightening in combination with someone who is barrel chested or has the above described relationship with her sternum and pubic bone.Your situation is not easy or straightforward and the revision procedure may or may not be indicated or helpful. There’s no point in going through the recovery of a full tummy tuck revision unless it’s going to give it a significant and high likelihood of improvement.Choosing the most talented and experienced plastic surgeon goes without saying. You can follow up with the surgeon who did your procedure or schedule proper second opinion consultations. To make an assessment plastic surgeons will need to see proper before and after pictures and if scheduling a proper in person second opinion consultation you should also bring a copy of the operative report from your first procedure. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures then ask the surgeon to forward the ones they took. The operative report is part of your medical records and can be requested as well.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
In most cases a TT is one and done. Revisions are rare. You would need to be examined but at least from the photos, it appears that you had aggressive/overdone liposuction leaving dents and grooves. These are almost unfixable. Your upper abdomen protrudes more that it should and either you have perhaps gained weight and need to lose core fat or the muscle repair has partially failed and needs to be redone.
Hello there. You will likely benefit from a repeat (revision) tummy tuck with repair of the diastasis rectus again. In these cases you sometimes have to repair the fascia in multiple layers to get it to be tight. This will involve the same incision that you currently have and the technique will...
An examination is needed to be sure, but liposuction in those areas may remove excess fat and take care of the problem.
