Is surgery necessary for the fullness around my nipple area? (Photos)
I’ve always noticed some fullness around my nipples, but about 10 years ago, after a year of consistent cardio and strength training, I reached a very low body fat percentage with good muscle definition. At that point, my chest looked normal, and I never questioned whether I had gynecomastia. Over the years I gained weight, and although I’ve recently lost 20 pounds, I still have persistent fullness specifically around my nipples. I’m wondering whether this is more likely to be stubborn fat or gynecomastia that would only be corrected with surgery. If surgery is recommended, are there less invasive treatment options available, and what kind of cosmetic results can I realistically expect? Specifically, will my chest look natural after healing, and is a recovery of about 2–3 months typically enough for the surgical changes to be difficult to notice?
