Deep plane face and neck lift - Should I also consider a lip lift? Which laser option is best erbium or CO2? (Photos)

Planning DPFL/neck. My main concern is jowls and weak profile/jawline. I am 60yo. I will probably do facial fat transfer and thinking or erbium laser instead of CO2 bec my skin condition does not bother me that much and CO2 seems too aggressive. I’m wondering if I should do lip lift as space betn nose and top lip has grown and chin is small. I don’t want to get a chin implant so hoping chin filler and lip lift could balance my face better? Just worried top lip will appear too big (I don’t use lip filler and hate that look) or feel weird or that my smile will really change. Not sure what to do to optimize my surgery and address my concerns. Also a bit confused on laser - erbium or CO2 or just skip entirely? Thank you so much.

For the lip lift, it can be a nice complement if you’ve noticed lengthening of the space between your nose and upper lip. When done conservatively, it doesn’t have to create an overdone or “filler-like” look, and it can help restore youthful proportions without making the top lip look too large. The key is subtlety and tailoring it to your natural anatomy, so your smile remains natural.

For the chin, if you’re not comfortable with an implant, chin filler can indeed help achieve better balance and definition, especially alongside a deep plane facelift and neck lift. This can sharpen the profile and support the lower face without committing to something permanent.

On the laser side, erbium tends to be gentler with less downtime, while CO2 is more aggressive and often better for deeper lines, textural changes, or significant sun damage. Since your primary concern seems more structural (jowls, profile, proportions) rather than skin surface issues, you might not need a fully aggressive resurfacing at this stage. In that sense, erbium—or even skipping a laser now and addressing it later if needed—could be a reasonable option.

Overall, combining the facelift/neck lift with subtle refinements like a possible lip lift and chin balancing (via filler) could give you the harmony you’re looking for, while lasers can be tailored to your comfort level and goals.
