I have been saying this for over 2 and 1/2 decades, no hyaluronic acid filler should ever be placed into the tear trough. Even though at first, it may look quite good, overtime because of the gelatinous structure of hyaluronic acid it gets moved over towards the nose and superficially, creating a bubble. When I see patients like yourself, I generally very gingerly, dissolve the hyaluronic acid, where the effects are not very good, or desirable, and do this over a period of 2 to 3 sessions, so as not to Dissolve the naturally present connective tissue. Once the hyaluronic acid is gone, I perform fat grafting using your own fat. This allows me to restore a more youthful face that you had some 20 years ago with the results that are absolutely natural in appearance and practically permanent. The recovery is almost nonexistent.
