Hi, I had an under eye filler injected on both sides and afterwards noticed a weird dark circle appearing. I asked my doctor to dissolve the filler and the result is the picture on the right. The dark area seems to be less obvious however, it is still very noticeable and I am very stressed that this dark circle is going to stay with me forever. Please advise me.
Answer: Concerns Regarding Post-Filler Dark Circles We understand your concerns regarding the dark circles that have appeared after your under-eye filler procedure. The appearance of dark circles after dermal fillers in the under-eye area is not uncommon. This can happen due to a number of reasons including bruising, the Tyndall effect (where light is scattered in the dermis creating a blue or dark hue), or due to the filler being placed too superficially. The fact that the darkness has reduced after the filler was dissolved is a good sign. This suggests that the discoloration might have been related to the filler itself rather than a permanent change in your skin or underlying tissues. However, it's important to monitor the area and have regular follow-up appointments with your doctor to ensure it continues to improve. If the dark circle persists, treatments such as laser therapy, chemical peels, or topical creams may be suggested by your doctor.

Answer: Under Eye Filler Fillers that are placed superficially can sometimes cause a complication called Tyndall effect. It' s important that the filler is not placed under the skin and under the orbicularis oculi muscle , and that in such a case the filler should be dissolved thoroughly , preferably in three to five sessions . Nanofat grafting performed by a certified plastic surgeon can help correct this problem.

Answer: Dark Circles Hello! Thanks for your question and photo. For dark circles, I would give it some time after dissolving. If still present, you can consider hydroquinone. This is useful for pigmentation issues. It can be a very challenging problem.

Answer: Dark Circles It appears you likely have something called Tyndall effect. This can be caused superficial placement of dermal filler that causes scattering of light particles that creates a blue hue to the skin. The best way to treat this is by dissolving the filler. Hope this helps
