The lines next to the corners of your mouth are due to smiling. When you are at rest, There is just a transition zone between your cheek and lip skin which appears to be normal. Based on your age and the limited information we have with your photos, I would not recommend any intervention at this time. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Yes, there are effective treatments for reducing the appearance of both marionette lines (those moving down from the nose) and nasolabial folds (those at the corners of the mouth). For lines and folds like these, we most commonly recommend dermal fillers, or hyaluronic acid-based injection formulas. More specifically, Juvéderm Ultra and Juvéderm Ultra XC formulas could both be great choices—depending, of course, on your unique skin type and your complete set of rejuvenation goals. Juvéderm Ultra XC (which includes lidocaine for a more comfortable process) is an ideal choice for mild to moderate smile lines, as it is lighter weight and sits higher in the dermal layers. Juvéderm Ultra is designed to reach deeper into the dermal tissue, making it an excellent option for more major results.
