Within 1,5 years I noticed the development of my nasolabial folds and also this sagging of the mid cheeks and what appear to be jowls. I just turned 35. Should I go straight for a lift or other non operative solutions like ultherapy could help for now? I want to prevent jt from getting worse
Answer: There are many options to address your concerns Hello and thank you for your question and pictures! Treatment depends on your anatomy and skin elasticity, so you should visit a board certified plastic surgeon for definitive treatment options.Your skin looks like it still has a lot of elasticity left and signs of aging are minimal. I would first suggest non-surgical treatment. In today's day and age, there are many nonsurgical options to consider although surgery usually gets the most improvement specifically of the neck and jowls. There are many options such as filler injections, chemical peels, laser treatments (non-ablative as well as resurfacing). It really depends on what you're specifically interested in and they're all sorts of combinations. If you decide to take the surgical route an option is a short scar facelift. The recovery & downtime is very minimal. There are usually no drains, and most people can go out the same day. You can shower the next day and there are no scars behind the ears and you can wear your hair up anytime and most patients take no pain medicine. The result is usually the same in selected patients as a full scar facelift but it really depends on your exam. I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of mini facelifts and neck lifts but also offers all the nonsurgical options such as injectables and laser treatments. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. If it does, please take a moment to up vote this answer on the “respond” button on the top right.

Answer: Dermal fillers: things you should know Thank you for your question and photo. At this stage, you may benefit most from dermal fillers to address the nasolabial folds and add volume to the cheeks. Many dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the human body. This injectable treatment can effectively support and restore volume to the face by adding HA back into the dermal structure, with results that may last for a year or more. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified injector who can review your aesthetic goals and suggest the best treatment option.

Answer: Laugh Lines / Nasolabial Folds - Fillers + Sculptra, Lasers like Fraxel/Clear + Brilliant, Radiofrequency, Peels, Skin Care I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting, and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. I suggest seeing a facial sculpting expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Combination of procedures Great question! You would be a good candidate for a combination of smaller procedures, but not a facelift based on what I see here. I don't typically recommend ultherapy for a number of reasons. Based on your photo, I would recommend facial fat grafting or filler, a small chin implant and/or jawline filler, and radiofrequency skin tightening to the submental area and lower face. Find a plastic surgeon you like and be evaluated in person to formulate a plan. Best of luck!

Answer: Am I a candidate for a Mini Facelift or nonsurgical treatments? Hello @nasinha92 thank you for your question. Yes you are candidate for nonsurgical treatments. Ultherapy is a non surgical procedure with a technology that prevents facial and body flaccidity. It produce a retraction of the skin so that it remains firm against the tissue and optimizes the production of collagen; in addition this treatment produces a greater hydration improving the quality and tone of the skin. Ultherapy makes skin younger, tenser. I would suggest Dermafillers to diminish the depth of the folds in the peri-mouth. And remember to consult with the a board certified specialist to have a proper assessment and take the best course of action. Best wishes!
