BBL after butt implant removal. Is it possible to do a revision BBL with the scar tissue in my butt?

Hi, I had buttimplants for 10 years, done a bbl 2018 which irritated one side which forced me to remove my subfascial implants spring 2019. I had numerous mri’s done with no changes in the size of the scar tissue left in the side which gave me trouble ( 0.7 x 13.6 x 9cm). Is it possible to do a bbl with the scar tissue in my butt? Is there a risk of necrosis? What’s my best option to fix my butt? Thank you for any help!

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to get BBL after implant removal. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Yes revision is possible but only very few plastic surgeons are experienced enough to undertake this difficult surgery. Expect fees in the $10,000++ ranges. Seek in person or virtual consultations if you find one of these surgeons willing to undertake your correction.

It’s certainly possible to do a BBL despite your complex history. What it can achieve is a different question.

Without posting pictures or depicting what you’re trying to achieve it’s hard to address your question at all.

Areas of scar tissue do not represent good post tissue to keep grafted fat alive.

All fat transfer procedures leave some necrotic tissue.

When providers talk about a certain percentage of fat surviving they are implying that the fat doesn’t survive becomes necrotic.

Small individual particles of necrotic fat or asymptomatic and use incorrect grafting techniques allows the body to have individual small areas of fat necrosis in a way that doesn’t cause any clinical issues.

Without having more information especially pictures or an examination it’s not possible to give you good advice.

I suggest scheduling multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with the BBL procedure

Most of the gluteus muscle is not covered by a substantial fascial sheath. The idea of placing an implant in a sub fascial plane really doesn’t exist for these muscles.

Gluteal implants I will either placed in the muscle or above the muscle(subcutaneous).
