Should I go over or under the muscle with Mentor smooth implants?

I have been for my consultation and my surgeon said i can go over or under the muscle. I chose over at the time and now im worried im at more risk of capsular contracture going over.

Yes, overs have more cc, more rippling/implant visibility, and long term glandular drop.  Always under via inframammary incisions.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants and they choose what looks right for them. You are correct... there is a higher chance of getting capsular contracture if you put the implants over the muscle.  For that reason, almost all of my patients choose to put the implants under the muscle.  Additionally, there is less chance that you could have rippling of the implants at the top of your breast if you go under the muscle too.  Talk to your surgeon to go over the risks and percentages with you so you can make an informed decision.  Best of luck!

If you have a full B-small C cup amount of breast tissue, then you probably have enough tissue to hide the implants and can go just behind the breast. If you have less tissue, then go behind the muscle for better coverage and better support to your implant.
