Will NY Medicaid cover breast implant revision surgery?

Question

I had breast implants put in 2 months ago and am very disappointed by the results. One is bigger than the other and my areolas are uneven, among other issues. Every time I look at it I start crying. I want a breast implant revision done but don't know if my insurance will cover at least some portion of it. I am in NY and have UnitedHealthcare through Medicaid. Thanks.

the price is entirely practice dependent. If it was planned to be staged than the cost may be included. If its a revision, typically surgeons only ask the patient to pay for the surgery center and anesthesia.

I'm sorry but I (and my CEO) are unaware of any insurance, much less Medicaid, covering cosmetic surgery revisions as a result of dissatisfaction. I sympathize with you but this is something you will likely need to pursue on a cash pay basis.

No, insurance does not cover elective cosmetic surgery or revision cosmetic surgery. However, please discuss your concerns with your surgeon and perhaps he/she will be able to do something.

Medicaid does not cover cosmetic surgery of any kind or any issues arising from dissatisfaction of the outcome. It is advisable to first return to your surgeon and discuss with him/her.  Like the augment itself, secondary surgery is fee for service.
