Hello! I currently have a black lettered tattoo that I got about 4 moths ago. I am very eager to get my tattoo removed; however, I have so many different thoughts and concerns such as where to go, what laser should be used, and how many sessions. I understand that it is hard to tell based on a picture. Any honest feedback would be greatly appreciated and helpful in regards to the most effective way to remove my tattoo. Thanks so much!

Answer: Laser Treatment for Black Tattoo My preferred laser for black tattoos is Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm wavelength). You could also use Q-switched alexandrite (755 nm) laser or ruby (694 nm) laser to treat a black tattoo. A fresh, dark black tattoo would be expected to respond to laser treatment but would require many treatment sessions for best results. Picosure laser could also be used. This is a special type of alexandrite laser. It seems to have an advantage when treating colors such as green. For most black tattoos, both Picosure and Q-switched lasers would be expected to work well.

Answer: Black ink tattoo laser removal This is back ink and either Picosure or Alexandrite TriVantage lasers.TriVantage’s Alexandrite is renowned for it’s superior ability to treat greens, blues and black. The 755 nm Q-switched laser generates Q-switched 1064 nm or 532 nm Nd YAG wavelengths. Picosure costs much more and I don't think given the colors of your tattoo that it would offer any additional benefits other than 1 or 2 sessions less.
