I just had my first Tattoo removal treatment and I see no difference, they used Picosure and my tattoo its red ink with black edges. Is that the right laser? They told me they also have the revlite but they didn't use that one. I feel like this first treatment was a waste since I was doing a research and I see picosure doesn't work on red ink. What do you think? should I complaint about it?

Answer: Removing Red Tattoos There are three currently available picosecond lasers for use with tattoos. The PicoSure is a 755 nm picosecond device that does not work well with red ink, although it works well with other colors. The PicoWay and the EnLighten are 1064 nm-532 nm picosecond lasers that are approved for all colors, including red. It is not that pico does not work, it is the wavelength of the PicoSure that is not the best for red ink. In your case, the clinic should have been using the RevLite for the red ink.The Pico lasers are the hottest things right now in the laser business, but the three are all a little different, so make sure that you do your homework and go to the right clinic that will work with you with your tattoo instead of trying to only use the pico to generate income.

Answer: Tattoo Removal for Red Ink The Picosure wavelength is 755 nm, a red light and doesn’t work well on red ink – a green light laser like 532 nm would be the better choice. Revlite has this wavelength – maybe just go back and ask them to retreat it with the appropriate wavelength. Having said this, the Picosure is really great for green ink tattoos! And there are now picosecond lasers with the wavelengths of 532 and 1064 but they have just become available.
