Hard bump appeared on supratip 1 month after primary rhinoplasty. Best way to correct it? (photos)

Question

About 3 weeks after my primary rhinoplasty, a hard bump appeared on the supra tip. It appears to be cartilage as it is hard and not soft tissue. My doctor is considering a touch-up, but I read here that rasping might be only for bone. My skin is too thin, I'd rather not have a revision . Is there any other safe way to correct this without compromising the original result? Picture shows result after 10 days, vs result after 6 months. Thank you.

Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photos you provided it looks like your nose is fine. I recommend you to go to your ENT surgeon to get a check-up and see what it the reason for a hard bump. I don't know if it causes you pain or something else. The best thing to do is to go to your surgeon :) Best regards!

I agree that you have supratip swelling, and this is the only place where we use injectable steroids to reduce post surgical swelling. Please visit your surgeon to get advice and a possible treatment. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

There are 2 possibilities. The first one could be swelling after the surgery. When the swelling is subsided, the tip could be dropped a bit. Another reason is scar tissues on the tip area in which can be solved with steroid injection. If you have further questions the n please let me know. Thank you!

This is a small polybeak deformity, the rasp will not work but the cartilage can be lowered under local anesthesia. There may also be fibrosis tissue, in which case a steroid shot will work.
