Hi! I’m 40 and around 160 lbs 5’3” with 36 DDD breasts. I recently lost some weight - about 14 lbs - so my cup size might be slightly smaller now. I’m going In for a breast lift next week and also a slight reduction. I’m struggling with deciding what cup size I should be going for with my surgeon. I have a short torso and I’m trying to maintain my curvy silhouette. I will be getting a lift with a fat transfer (from lipo) to give some effect of volume. I am also considering galaflex bra.
Answer: Bellesoma Method At size 36, each 200 grams removed corresponds to 1 cup size change. It does not make any sense to undergo a reduction and fat transfers simultaneously. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast lift and reduction Dear Humorous325369, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Size At 5'3", I would suggest going down to a C or maximum a D so that you can have good long term results. Anything larger will sag again from the weight. Plus, you can be relieved of the heavy weight on your neck and shoulders.

Answer: Breast lift and reduction Thank you for your query. There are various ways of estimating the size of breasts that you may want after a breast reduction surgery. The first would be just by looking at pictures and bras of different cup sizes with the same circumference. The second and more reliable method, that your Plastic surgeon may offer, is 3-D morphing, to let you figure out what size you would prefer. It is, of course, very important to have a detailed discussion with your Plastic surgeon who can hep you make the right decision about the size and also help you with all your other concerns. All the best!

Answer: Breast lift You may want to consider a lift with auto augmentation. This approach uses your own tissue (not a fat transfer) to provide upper pole fullness to the breasts. I do not typically perform fat transfer to the breasts as this can result in calcifications which may interfere with future breast imaging. I've included a video on auto augmentation that I hope you find helpful.
