Thank you for your question. At my surgical center in Del Mar, California, we commonly perform combined surgeries including tummy tucks, breasts lifts, and arm lifts up to 8 hours. We have a 23 hour stay in which you are one on one with 1 of my nurses overnight. Best wishes to you.

Even though you are medically cleared by your cardiologist, I would recommend that you have the TT and arm lift at a surgery center accredited by AAAASF or another accrediting agency which only uses board certified plastic surgeons, board certified anesthesiologists, and RNs. Also make sure that the surgery center where your plastic surgeon operates has a transfer agreement with a hospital that is in close proximity should an unanticipated emergency occur.

It is up to your plastic surgeon to determine this. They will assess you and see If it is safer to schedule your surgery at a hospital rather than a private surgical facility.

There are a variety of ways of doing a tummy tuck. The technique I recommend uses mesh to reinforce the repair. Consequently I like to keep the patient overnight to make sure they do not have any problems breathing. Depending on the type of tummy tuck performed, it is possible for you to go home. However, if it is a tummy tuck with marked increased abdominal pressure then you may need to hospitalized overnight.

Each surgeon will have their own opinion on this. I suggest you choose a surgeon and let the surgeon decide. Some surgeons may be okay with while others not. But you don't want that to influence your choice of surgeon.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to do these procedures out of the hospital. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Safety is always the number one priority in surgery. You have done what you need to do in terms of getting clearance from your specialist and lab work. Each surgeon will have to determine if based on your medical history and the procedures planned if it is safe for you to have the procedure in a surgery center or if the hospital is recommended. I caution you not to look only for the surgeon who will agree to do this in a surgery center. If several board certified plastic surgeons feel it is safest for you to be in a hospital setting, there is likely a reason for it.

Hi and welcome to our forum!A preoperative anesthesia consultation may be required to ascertain their level of concern. The nature of your cardiac rhythm disturbance is not presented. If your cardiologist and anesthesiologist both feel comfortable with you undergoing an outpatient procedure, the surgery can be performed in a surgery center (or surgicenter), a facility which is completely equipped (by state law) to handle any emergency and is certified by the state to provide general anesthesia. It only lacks in-patient beds.In our area, it is common practice (if you are determined to be medically stable).Best wishes...
