My surgeon is switching from mentors to natrelle. I tried on and decided on 400 cc round smooth mentor mod + profiles. His coordinator said switching bc he likes their cohesiveness of Natrelle soft touch and i think he said something about warrenty. They said I would need go with 375 cc or 405 cc. I know nothing about natrelle bc I anticipated not having a choice. Now they are giving me a choice. Can I get some pros and cons. 5'7 135 lbs my surgeon doesn't measure bwd. Mentor is 13.1 bwd 4.0 projection.
Answer: Natrelle vs mentor breast implants: what are the pros and cons? Thank you for the question. Personally, I think that careful selection of plastic surgeon and careful communication goals are the two most important "factors" when it comes to achieving the desired outcome with breast augmentation surgery. The specific breast implant manufacturer and even type of breast implant are far less important factors, in my opinion. All of the FDA approved breast implant manufacturers provide good products. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. ***Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Brand of implant? Thank you for your question. Typically there isn't much difference in the various brands of implants. They are all great devices. The most recent trend in silicone implants is to increase the fill volume of the implant. This is supposed to cause less rippling and help maintain upper pole fullness. 5cc difference is equal to a teaspoon. Sientra currently has the best warranty of any implant. Hope this helps.Dr. Rast

Answer: Mentor vs Natrelle Hi and thank you for your question! Natrelle implants have a higher fill ratio of silicone so they are a little bit more plump and have less risk of rippling. I used to use Mentor implants also but now almost exclusively use Natrelle implants. They are great implants and my patients really love them. In fact, Mentor and Sientra have both recently come out with higher fill implants because of the popularity of the Natrelles. That being said, most people aren't going to notice a difference between Mentor or Natrelle but it will make a difference in some so you are better off going with Natrelles. (and I don't get paid by any company to say that, just my honest opinion)
