Vaser procedures, per se, can be either limited or extensive. Aggressive treatment may require an overnight stay. Depending on your country, there are limits of how much fat can be aspirated. In my case, the procedure is performed as an outpatient (same day surgery). Patients that come from out of town stay for ten days before leaving and they start a strict post-operative care regimen. Best, Dr. RG
Most surgeon will do VASER cases as a day case procedure - that means you have the procedure and you go home the same day.Depending on the surgeon and the areas treated you may have this just under local anaesthetic (just numbing), IV sedation (you will feel drowsy) or general anaesthetic (completely knocked out).Local hospital policy will have a protocol on your time in stage one and two recovery. This can be anything from 30min to 2-4 hours depending in what you have had done and which type of anaesthetic you have had.Every patient is assessed at their own merit and recovery staff will only discharge you once they are happy with your progress.Your surgeon will be able to give you and estimate.Best to have someone pick you up.
Vaser is a wonderful outpatient procedure that can be done in a physicians office. It gives a great result if done right. Limited pain and downtime. It should be done with a lite oral medicine for anxiety for best results. My patients have to have a driver. I believe Vaser is the best body sculpting tool in the world so far. Hope this helps. JB
Vaser Lipo is an outpatient procedure which is commonly performed in either a doctor's office or hospital. It is be performed under local #anesthesia or a "conscious" sedation intravenously. The location and type of anesthesia for your procedure will be determined by your doctor. A quicker #recovery for a patient may be two to three weeks without any strenuous activity. This includes the short period of suggested rest of 12-24 hours soon following the procedure. #Exercise and activity are contingent on how the patient feels. Mild activity is not likely to hinder recovery or healing or create problems with recovery. However, it is recommended to acquire your doctor's permission to do so. Once you begin exercising again, start gently and let your body tell you what it can tolerate.Gentle #walking may increase circulation and help to alleviate swelling. But you must not strain or push yourself. Also, if you were provided a post-procedure #garment, be sure you are wearing it until prescribed otherwise by your doctor. The purpose of the post-procedure #garment is to provide some gentle #support and to reduce swelling. If it feels too tight or causes pain, take it off. Many patients wear the #elastic garment for several weeks after procedures, as directed by their doctor; some choose to wear it longer for several months for comfort.Massage may also help. Your doctor should instruct you how to properly #massage the areas and will hopefully do so at your follow-up visit. If not, it's suggested you inquire about it. After one to three days, you should be able to return to work. As I advise my patients, if your work keeps you sedentary, you may return whenever you feel up to it. If your work is strenuous, wait until your work activity does not cause any superficial pain. Some employers will modify a person’s job duties so they can back sooner, but without physical activity. Our office can provide our patients with a note stating they are not to engage in strenuous activity for a specified period of time. The note will not disclose what procedure they have underwent. Therefore, you may have to request a similar note from your surgeon if you are not independently employed. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.
There is really no reason to have to stay at the hospital post liposuction unless your surgeon removed more than the recommended 5L. IF that is the case, a monitored setting such as a hospital is warranted to make sure your blood levels dont drop too low. Most patients are having liposuction as an elective procedure so staying below 5L is fairly common. Most cases are completed in a ambulatory surgery center or office based surgery center. I have done over 900 cases and I have not had to admit any patients for an overnight stay.Hope this helps
Thank you for your question. Broadly speaking, it depends on how extensive your surgery is, if you have any responsible person around to care for you during the first 24 hours as it is not advisable to left alone. The only patients of mine where we arrange an overnight stay are those who have no carers. Other than that, even with my 4D high definition patients, there is no need for an overnight stay, and all of the patients walk to their ride home. Early mobility is essential in reducing complications and facilitating recovery.
Vaser liposuction does not require you to stay at the hospital. First, there are no long incisions so healing time is limited to how quickly you can deal with soreness only. Once again, no need to stay at the hospital with routine VASER liposuction.
Good Day. Thank you for your question.Patients do not need to be hospitalized after liposuction. Standard suction assisted liposuction of up to 4 liters of fat removal can be treated at you home with a friend or family member caring for you the first day. The physician should be notified if any concerns amor questions. Pain is mild to moderate at most with duration of 2-3 days of narcotics and overall soreness for 10-14 days. However, high definition liposuction or higher volumes of fat output may dictate observation in a post-surgical center or nurse-monitored day care.Safety is paramount. Identifying medical problems that increase complications such as high blood pressure, diabetes and obstructive sleep apnea may alter post-liposuction care.Best of luck.

VASERlipo® works by using targeted ultrasound energy to rupture the fat cells in the treatment area. After the fat cells are destroyed, they're then removed using suction. Once fat cells are eliminated, they cannot grow back. However, this does not mean you can't gain weight back in the future. ...
