Is it safe to have Botox in the neck? I had this area done years ago and no complications, however I am now worried about side effects such as difficulty swallowing or moving the neck. I have some platysma bands and generally wrinkled neck.
Answer: Botox can be effective option for neck lines Thank you for your question. Small amounts of Botox are an effective way to address platysmal bands for many patients as long as the procedure is administered by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist who is also an expert Botox injector. You might also consider combining your Botox treatment with a skin rejuvenation procedure like RF microneedling to further enhance your results.

Answer: Neck concerns Hello and thank you for your question. The neck is a great areas for combination treatment and in my clinic we often combine injectables with non surgical lifting devices to help tighten the jawline and lift the face painlessly. These devices such as Ultracel can be easily combined with injectables to creat amazing results and I would recommend seeing an experienced Doctor for a face to face consult so a bespoke plan can be put together. Best wishes

Answer: Neck Lines / Tech Neck / Neck Wrinkles -- Soft Fillers (Belotero) in combination w/ Lasers and Microneedling/PRP Thank you for your question, injecting soft fillers like Belotero in this area can reduce lines, wrinkles and folds as well as improve skin texture with long-term collagen production. Fillers are being used more frequently to contour and lift rather than solely line fill. Of course, fillers are best used in combination with lasers and microneedling with PRP to get the optimal outcome. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to create an individualized treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Botox can be effective treatment for platysmal bands Botox can be injected into the neck safely to reduce the appearance of platysmal bands. However, to ensure this treatment is both natural and effective, keep in mind that less is more. It is imperative that you work with a board-certified dermatologist who is also a Botox expert to ensure the procedure is performed with the precision and gentle touch necessary to produce an optimal outcome. Botox is a temporary treatment, so you will likely need to repeat the process every four months or so to maintain your positive improvement.

Answer: Safety of Botox Injections in the Neck I appreciate your concern, but I assure you that as long as you are working with an experienced, board-certified dermatologist, Botox injections are very safe in the neck area. This procedure targets the platysmal muscles in the neck that cause banding. Precision in needle placement and dosing amount is key in this area. In most cases, the results of Botox treatments in this area last about three to four months. Keep in mind that there are other options for tightening and firming the neck if you are still apprehensive about Botox. We offer non-surgical skin tightening like Thermage, Ultherapy or ThermiTight, which work deep into the dermal structure to increase collagen production and create smoother, firmer skin. A board-certified dermatologist with extensive experience in skin rejuvenation will be able to assess you in person and tailor a treatment program to your precise needs for the best possible results.
