My under eye fillers never last more than three weeks! Three tries already! What could be happening?

Hello. I am a 29 year old woman with some undereye issues (loss of volume in the undereye area) My problem is not severe. I've had fillers injected three times already and they don't last. I got the treatments done by two good ophtamologic surgeons in the UK... The 1st time the surgeon injected 1 syringe restylane it didn't last. then another 1, it didn't last again. the third time we tried 2 injections which didn't last either.what could be happening?

Try other fillers that are longer lasting and go to someone with experience who uses cannulas to limit complications.  Best, Dr. Emer.

What you are describing is very unusual.  Fillers around eyes typically last more than a year, sometimes even longer. Perhaps it wasn't injected exactly in the eyelid or not enough was injected, although it only takes 1/2 to 1 syringe to make a difference. Consider seeing an oculoplastic specialist.

I think Restylane is a great filler for this area. When too much is used, the results look unnatural though. A bit edematous, watery. I love sculptra for this area and Bellafill. It needs a very experienced injector to avoid lumps but done right, it's the best in my opinion. ISculptra is what I use on my wife. You should get years with either product. Make sure cannulas are used for this to limit bruising and risk.

It is very unusual for the filler to last less than 6 months in this location. More likely, it is moving away from the desired treatment area, although sometimes just not enough product is being used. Best to see a dermatologist, and consider using something like Restylane fine lines.
