Answer: Scrotal edema after liposuction Ahmed,Sorry to hear about the swelling. It is very common to have scrotal edema for weeks after an abdominal liposuction. You should follow your Plastic Surgeon's instructions on how to deal with the swelling.I have patients were tight underware or scrotal supports (athletic supports) after the surgery. This tend to reduce the amount of water accumulating in the area. I also have you resume your normal activity as tolerated. The size of the scrotum may interfer with comfortable walking, but it is not dangerous.Hope you feel better soon.Dr. T

Answer: Swelling after liposuction Thanks for your candid question, which is a common one that never gets asked. Yes, this swelling is very common for men who've had liposuction around the lower abdomen. I'd say that it typically gets better within a few weeks, but can take 3 months or more to completely resolve. I'd suggest an athletic supporter or tighter workout undershorts to provide some compression. Make sure your surgeon takes a look as well to avoid any complications. Best wishes to you.
