Im 35, female single. 3 months back but my stitches got opened and the labia minora is all deformed and some very tiny pieces are left. My surgeon is saying he will do revision or triming. I dont trust him as its hardly anything left to trim. I did the procedure for social reasons

Answer: Labiaplasty revision should not be done until 5-6 months after surgery I’m sorry you’re going through this. Unfortunately it is difficult to give advise without pictures. But in general, doing a revision in 3 months as you are now, will lead to failure. Patience is your best bet at this time. Also Mother Nature if very forgiving. It is possible it will not look as bad as you think. But if it does, then 5-6 months post op would be when you would schedule such a procedure. I hope that helps.

Answer: Labiaplasty revision I cannot give you recommendations without photos. However, no attempt to revise your labia should be done until you are at least five months after your past procedure as your appearance will improve, and the swelling will be less. You need to control your anxiety and wait. The reconstruction is much more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about ten years ago. Approximately 40% of the surgeries I perform are revisions of other surgeons’ labiaplasties. You may need various reconstructive techniques to give you a good appearance, but this won't be known until all the swelling is gone. I might recommend clitoral hood flaps to reconstruct your labia if your surgeon left enough remaining clitoral hood. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. Gary J. Alter, M.D. Beverly Hills, CA - Manhattan, NY
