I don't like my tip and hump at all, especially when I smile, because it gets more bigger and wider which is why I don't smile much, sadly. I went to a top surgeon in NJ, and they told me that it's not that bad and will only make a few changes which is make my nostrils smaller, my tip a little thinner, and reduce the hump. But I'm wonder if a little curve or keeping it straight would be nice on me. Opinions? Thank you!
Answer: Supra-tip break Aesthetic feature of the nose includes a point of break from the dorsum to the tip where the tip is slightly higher. Otherwise the nose does appear long. This can be achieved with a graft or shaving the dorsum lower.

Answer: Rhinoplasty: Should I add a tiny curve to my nose or keep it straight? Dear LeslieI think either would look good on you. A slight curve will look a little softer and more feminine and will make your tip look slightly upturned. The question become what look you would like to have. It looks like your surgeon did imaging for you. You can ask him to image you with a slightly curved profile and see how you like it. Then you can decide which one you prefer.

Answer: Rhinoplasty I assume by tiny curve you are referring to a "supra tip" break. It is aesthetically better to have a small break between the dorsum and the tip as it gives more definition to the tip. Without a supra tip break the nose can appear too long.I would agree with your surgeon's suggestion to remove your hump and refine your tip. It is hard to tell from your pictures whether you need your nostrils made smaller but this would be relatively uncommon and I would be surprised if you needed that to be done.If you are concerned about the opinion you have received then I would suggest getting a second opinion. It is important that you feel comfortable with the decisions you make.Best wishesRichard

Answer: Rhinoplasty candidate for profile enhancement The decision to perform a straight bridge line or a slight curve, is a personal one, so only the patient can make that decision. In our practice we attempt to give most patients a slight supratip depression which visually sets the tip apart from the bridge line. A supratip depression looks more feminine on a woman then on a man.

Answer: Should I add a tiny curve to my nose? A straight nose with a "supra-tip break" which is a slight projection right above the tip is the ideal. Although hard to see for sure because of the angle, that is probably what we are looking at in the sample photo you show of Selena Gomez. A curve would give your nose a scooped out look that would be unstable and likely look worse over time.
