Botox cause an inflamed under eye even when none was injected around eye. (photos)

Question

I had 15 units of Botox 3 weeks ago. 10 units in my forehead and 5 or less in between my brows. After the treatment things were fine. I have had Botox a number of times in the past few years. As the weeks have progressed under my eyes has gotten dark and with bags. My right eye is seriously inflamed. I have never had this happen before. I have been on doxy from my general doctor assuming it was an eye infection. Would Botox cause this? Can it be fixed.

injections are related to your eye irritation. I recommend scheduling an
appointment with your general practitioner or an ophthalmologist to determine
the cause and best treatment option.

Botox doesn't cause this type of eye infection or irritation. You can have swelling to your upper lids if your Botox was injected too low on the brow. I would consult an ophthalmologist to have them evaluate properly.  Best, Dr. Green

Hello Botoxxy,Thank you for sharing your question and photos with us. What you are describing on the backdrop of where and how much Botox you received highly unlikely they are connected. Your general doctor already has you on an antibiotic and if you do not feel you are getting better a visit to an ophthalmologist would be a good idea to know what may truly be causing this situation.
