At 5 weeks you are still swollen you have to give it time, based on your pictures you seem to have a good result. continue to wear your compression garment and follow up with your PS to discuss your concerns.

You can have swelling for 6-12 months after liposuction especially if it is a high definition procedure. you should be in garments now for 2-3 months, be getting lymphatic massage, and vanquish/venus legacy or exilis ultra treatments.  If you arent  happy in 3-6 months you will need a revision.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.  I think you have a good understanding of your recovery after liposuction.  Your appearance may depend on how much and how often you are wearing your compression garment.  I usually recommend 3 week full time and 3 additional week part-time after surgery.  It truly takes 3-6 months before you can evaluate your results.  It takes time for the edema to resolve the skin to contract.   Be patient and I would expect you to have a very good result.  Best of luck.
