Is rough/bumpy skin a normal reaction to IPL? (Photo)

Last friday i went for my third ipl treatment. My skin today (wednesday) looks bumpy/rough. Is this a normal reaction? Or do i have to stop. I also have had 3 laser and 5 peeling treatments. But the last treatments was only ipl. On the photo you can see how my skin now looks. Because i have makeup you dont see the redness.

Thanks for your question and photos. To treat the blood vessel, I would either recommend another IPL or a yag laser to further constrict the vessel. Coconut oil will not do anything as it is applied topically.BestAnil Shah MD

Thanks for your question. I would not recommend IPL on African American skin, and I would not see any doctor who would. What I do suggest to lift hyperpigmented lesions off of darker skin tones in the Pico laser, as it is safe and effective. Best of LuckAnil Shah MD

While it doesn't appear your aren't a good candidate for IPL, it also looks like you can tan in the sun. Your technician might have been too aggressive with their settings. Try not to freak out, as these effects will subside within a few weeks. Avoid the sun and keep in close contact with your...

While I wish I could advise you avoid the sun altogether, it's not practical. Give yourself at least two weeks of no sun exposure and make sure you have good, if not perfect, habits following. Apply and reapply sunscreen, wear a hat, and don't run at high noon. BestAnil Shah MD
