Do I have nerve irritation from dermal filler? 3 weeks post-op.

Unfortunately you may have a nerve irritation or injury, I would recommend having an evaluation by a physician and based on physical examination your doctor can decide if they want to reverse the treatment or time will heal.  It is more likely for it to be temporary, over time most such injuries heal well, but it depends on technique used during injection and physical appearance of the area.  Hope that helps, Dr Violetta Mailyan

Hi Taliavid,It would be best to go and a board certified doctor. But given that three weeks had passed, the imminent danger of filler compromising blood supply and pressing on the nerve can be ruled out.Nerve irritation may be prolonged but not necessarily permanent. There are some supplements that are given to improve nerve function so ask your doctor if these would help. Monitor symptoms and if it worsens or there is palsy involved, consult your doctor about the possibility of dissolving with hyaluronidase.All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
