I had Botox for crows feet 6 months ago. After the injections I developed a eye bag under one of my eyes that has yet to go away. I have photos from that morning with no eye bag so I feel certain it was the Botox that caused it. Upon recommendations I have tried various lymphatic drainage options, taking antihistamines, ice rollers, but nothing seems to be working. I was hopeful it would go away after the Botox wore off but no luck. Any thoughts are appreciated!
Answer: Consider your options for minimizing eye bags Thank you for providing photos along with your question. Botox results should only last between 3-4 months. To address puffiness or under-eye bags, you may consider fillers to restore volume and even out your under-eye area. You may also consider “jelly roll” Botox which targets the slight bulge of muscle that appears under the eyes when you smile. It really depends on what is causing the eye bags. To determine the best approach, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon or expert injector. They will be able to do a personal evaluation and determine the best treatment plan to achieve your desired results.

Answer: Botox and oedema Hello and thank you for your question. A face to face consult and examination is always best however in this scenario it could still take a little while for the botox effects to wear off causing the under eye swelling.Give it to 9 months and reassess but if it is caused by botox it will settle. Please always seek treatment from a trained medical professional for any cosmetic treatment. Best wishes

Answer: Improving Under Eye / Tear Trough with Injectable Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk) -- add Lasers, Microneedling/PRP Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for you. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Candidacy for scar release? Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note a transverse "roll" of skin of the lower eyelid associated with a droop of the lid.Injection of Botox by itself does not cause eyebags. However, if there was significant swelling / bruising after your procedure, you may have developed adhesions, preventing upward movement of the lower lid. Continue follow up with your surgeon as you may ultimately become a candidate for a scar release.15% of cosmetic surgeries can be improved through secondary revision.Best wishes...

Answer: What can I do to remove eye bag that was caused by Botox? We can see the puffiness under your left eye with smiling, but an examination would be necessary to determine the cause. After 24 years of injecting BTX, we have not seen any "permanent" unwanted sequelae that did not completely go away in 4 months post injection. My dear, you are a bit of a diagnostic dilemma. Consider calling Allergan (Abvie), the manufacturer, to report your "adverse event", and ask for guidance and referral to a local reputable facial plastic surgeon, or oculoplastic surgeon. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
