I do not know of any reasons why having your thyroid removed would prevent you from being able to undergo liposuction surgery. You need to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon and determine if there are any other reasons why you would not be a good candidate. Hypothyroid conditions are very common and I have never seen a patient have a complication with liposuction as a result of their thyroid hormone levels.
If your metabolic situation is stabilized after thyroidectomy there is no contraindication to liposuction.
Liposuction can be performed in a patient who has had thyroidectomy, provided that thyroid hormone levels have been normalized.Find a board certified plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of liposuction and liposuction revision procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
A Thyroidectomy is in no way, by itself, a contraindication to liposuction. A consult with a board certified plastic surgeon will help you know the rest about whether or not you are a good candidate for liposuction.Best,Dr. Pyle
As long as your thyroid hormone level is being regulated medically I can see no reason why going ahead with liposuction wouldn't be safe and effective.
Generally speaking, the ideal patient for liposuction surgery is one who has achieved a long-term stable weight, is medically (psychologically and psychosocially) stable and presents with diet and exercise resistant adipose tissue of specific areas, with good quality overlying skin elasticity. When the time is right, seek consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons who can provide you with good, specific, and ethical advice. Best wishes.
As long as your hypothyroid disease now is being treated, and you get medical clearance, and you are a good candidate, then it is possible to have liposuction.
So long as your status is stable, you can have liposuction. If you gained weight, then I recommend that you reach a weight with which you are comfortable before considering liposuction. Best wishes. Dr Kraft
It is normal to have pins and needles zings and shooting pains following this procedure.Black and blues are also normal if it feels like there is fluid below the black and blue area, it may be a hematoma, a small collection of blood. If it is just a bruise, it will go away in a couple of weeks....
Appears to late to advise that liposuction was not the best option as an over the internet opinion. Best to seek IN PERSON second opinions or wait 3 months to allow healing phase to complete. I might suggest aggressive lymphatic massages, external ultrasound therapy..
The only thing that I have my patients do is to treat firm areas of the skin after liposuction with massage. You will see improvement in the "divots" with the massage and time. I think that the massage can be done by yourself and you don't need to go to a masseuse. But using a small vibrating...
