Answer: Abdominal swelling after breast augmentation Thank you for your question. Abdominal swelling is normal after breast augmentation. Swelling follows gravity and thus your abdomen (and sometimes the thighs) will experience more swelling and add confusion to the post-op period. You may even notice that you've added many pounds on the scale that cannot be explained solely by the addition of implants. You should notice a decrease in the abdominal swelling with each week that passes by. As far as returning to work, it would depend on the type of work that you do. In general bruising/swelling should not be a sole factor for returning to work. I would talk with your plastic surgeon's office about return to work.

Answer: Bruising after breast augmentation This is not that common to see bruising at the level of the waist. I recommend having your surgeon take a look. Sometimes bruising can drift from the chest to a lower position but not typically that low. Also important to know what technique was used.Good luckDr. Vasisht

Answer: Bruising after breast augmentation It is not unusual to have bruising after breast augmentation. That bruising may drift downward toward your abdomen and your waist if you spend much of the time of standing and walking. This can be normal and will result in it's usual time. About two weeks.Good luck.Earl Stephenson Jr. MD D.D.S. FACS

Answer: Bruising after Breast Augmentation Yes, swelling and bruising around the waist is quite common. It will usually subside within 1 to 2 weeks.I usually recommend that my patients take at least a week off work to allow things to settle, so perhaps you were overdoing it by going back so early (not that it will cause any problems in the long run).
