I had liquid Sotradecol sclerotherapy done on my hand and wrist veins in both hands. Now, 10 days later I have a new bulging arm vein that popped up yesterday in both arms in the same spot. The first photo shows all of the veins I had done and the second photo shows the new bulging one. Is this normal?? The dr who did sclerotherapy says I should have foam done instead but she doesn't do foam. I am really bothered by these manly looking veins and no one will help me

Answer: New forearm veins after hand sclerotherapy
A temple vein can be safely treated by sclerotherapy ( injection of a sclerosant solution, actually foam).
A phlebectomy seems possible too.
A temple artery would be pulsating, a simple touch will tell you the difference.
See a vascular physician in your area if it is a vein.
I suggest posting before and after photos. I personally don't do this much anymore because people need these veins as they age, plus fillers can be used to camoflage the veins. You may need a second treatment and consider foaming instead of solution injection. Best, Dr. Emer.
The physician wants to evacuate coagulum (old blood) which has been trapped in these sclerosed veins. I highly suggest that you undergo this treatment to improve cosmesis.Dr Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
