I'm getting married in May. When should I get my upper lip injected with Juvederm? Can I use leftover for pock marks? (photo)

If you have never had fillers before i would definitely recommend that you getting it done a few months in advance of your wedding. If you have product left over i would consult with your injector if its suitable for your pock marks.   Good luck

it’s essential to get your timing correct for the best results. This is even
more important if you haven’t had fillers before, and aren’t sure what to
expect. Although there’s little to no recovery time after most injectables, some
patients may notice bruising if their skin is more sensitive, so you definitely
want to schedule your appointment early enough to account for that possibility.
It’s preferable to make your appointment a few months ahead of time and then
have a touch-up just before your wedding than wait until the very last minute
for your first appointment.

Congratulations! The lips are very important and this time before your wedding is perfect for doing your homework and research on lip augmentation. Please look at women's lips in magazines to see which ones you like. The shape is most important. There is usually an enhancement just below cupid bow as well as on a small cleft in the middle of the lower lip. There is a pout at the lower lips, and the lips should taper at the corners of the mouth. The upper lip is usually smaller than the lower lip by 2/3 the size. The lips should be full and with a nice shape.Avoid "duck" lips which comes from too much filler, too close to the lip border. "Sausage" lips occur with too much filler without consideration for the shape of the lips. I use Juvederm Ultra XC which last about 9 months and the Juvederm Ultra Plus XC which last about 12 months. I use a local anesthetic so the injection should be pain-free and virtually free of any bleeding. Please discuss this with your doctor and look at the lips that he has done in the past. You can use remaining filler for pock mark scars or anywhere else. However, I have to caution you that treatment for scars is challenging and depends on how fibrous they are. The more fibrous the scars, the more difficult to treat and lift. If there are fibrous attachments to the deep tissue, you may need fillers as well as laser treatments for correction. I might suggest early March 2015 so if touch up needed you can receive one in late March 2015. As for extra filler left if any, you can use anywhere you desire. 

It is probably a good idea to have it done a few months before your event. This will give it time to settle down and if you had any bruising to go away. Best of luck.

If  you have never had filler before you may want to get it now so you make sure you are comfortable with the results before your wedding, this would give it time to wear off if for some reason you were unhappy. After that you could get a touch up 1 to 2 months before your wedding to allow plenty of time for swelling to subside. Best Wishes,Pablo Prichard

In general, it is a good idea to allow a month before an important event to have fillers injected. This allows things to settle and also for any adjustments to be made before the big event.  It is possible that some of a 1 cc syringe of Juvederm would be left over, and can be used to lift "pock marks" only if they are soft and can be stretched out to flatness when examined, but Juvedrm Ultra, because it does not have a high G',  is not the best filler for depressed scars.

Quite honestly, probably at least 6-8 weeks before your event. And really, you might want to first try it out now to make sure you like it, and then get a touch-up several weeks before the event. I almost never recommend filler only to the top lip. It leaves the majority of people looking altered, and can even look like a "duckbill" or "trout pout". Remember your goal is to look your best in photos!, and so an overfilled top lip is going to most likely look very odd, and altered. Typically, before a wedding, I would suggest having it a month in advance.  If you have never had it, you may want to try it ahead of time to be sure the results are what you like.  You must be sure you are comfortable that your injector understands exactly what you want.  Best wishes!
