Would getting lipo for a slimmer stomach ruin the tattoo? (Photos)

Question

I am 5’7 I currently weigh 160 lbs I want to get liposuction to get a slimmer waist mainly get rid of the love handles and the lower belly. However I do have a pretty big tattoo on my lower abdomen section and I was wondering if this could get distorted or messed up by a scar. I also have a dragon tattoo that’s covering my back (but not the love handle section so much it’s mainly mid back although it’s the whole back. I wanted a slimmer stomach, and also get rid of the fat around my thighs

Liposuction incisions are tiny and heal to where they are sometimes hard to find.  They should not impact your tattoo.  Contour irregularities are a risk of liposuction as is skin laxity.  I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.  After an examination and discussion of your goals your surgeon can let you know what you can expect in terms of results.

Thank you for your question.  Looking at the photos you have provided, I do believe you would be a great candidate for liposuction.  Your tattoo should be fine, you should receive some skin retraction as well with the lipo. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like lipo won't affect your tattoo. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
