Shaving/dermaplaning after VI Peel -- could I have caused any damage?

Hi! I received a VI peel on Thursday Jan 25 and stopped peeling for the most part by the following Tuesday. My skin returned to its normal touch, look and feel by Friday and Saturday. Today, Monday Feb 5 in the evening I took my little twinkle straight razor and “dermaplaned” places on my face that had a little peach fuzz. My skin feels fine afterwards. I usually would have waited to shave my face but for some reason I felt like it was ok to do so... could I have caused any damage?

Hi there! It doesn’t sound like you’ve caused any damage. Be sure to use a daily sunscreen and in the future I recommend waiting at least 3-4 weeks before dermaplaning or shaving .

Hello misonj,Thank you for your question. It is best to wait at least 3 weeks after a medium grade chemical peel before any type of exfoliating treatment is done. Sounds like no damage was done, just make sure and keep your skin protected with a good antioxidant and sunscreen.Best, Dr Faraz

Hey there,Usually after a medical grade medium depth chemical peel it is better to avoid any form of exfoliation for at least 3-4 weeks to avoid any complications.  It’s good to know that you didn't end up in any such untoward effects.  Dreamlining followed by VI peel usually gives better results.
