Burn from VI Peel 5 days ago, what can I do? (photos)

Question

I had a VIPeel done on my face and neck 5 days ago. My face is doing ok but my neck is extremely raw and seems to be burned. I can’t even straighten my neck because the skin is so taught. I don’t know if this will heal or if I need to seek help?

Hi and thank you for your question! Generally speaking the skin in neck is thinner and more sensitive than the skin on face and hence, the same peel that is considered not that deep in face can become quite deep in neck. In your case, it is important to follow the post-VI Peel care instructions and make sure your skin remains protected with a good moisturizer and do a follow up with your physician to address any remaining issues. It looks as if the treatment in the neck went deeper and possibly exacerbated by sun exposure especially in Miami. It is very important to follow the instruction in the vi kit. I would liberally use the cortisone create as well as the sun block, no more exposure until this heals and possibly cool soaks. I would also show the person who performed the peel.I believe in the long run this will heal fine.
